Formed by Peter H. Finnegan, former employee of Minneapolis Firearms Company. Whe he aquired the rights
of Turbiaux patent (US patent of 1882) he wiped out Minneapolis Fireamrs Co. of the marked of Protector
Firearms. CFG did not have own production facilities and let Ames Manufacturing Company produce the guns. Production was about 12000 guns and stopped in 1898. Guns were sold from 1894 to about 1910.
